The broadcast
Everything gets opened on camera
The Lab runs live. Product is opened in front of you rather than sorted off screen and reported back, and every rune is read aloud as it leaves the pack. Runes are what the Lab calls cards, if you have not been here before. Pulls get called when they land, not edited in afterwards.
It is Magic and only Magic. Everything else we open lives on a different channel, which is the one rule worth knowing before you turn up.
The rule people get wrong
You cannot buy a full box of Magic in the Lab. A full box is an Dr J's Open Vault sale, even though Open Vault is otherwise the channel for everything that is not Magic.
It reads backwards until you hear it once, so it is published rather than left for somebody to discover at the wrong moment.
The cast
Who is behind the bench
Dr J
The master of the Lab, and the reason it exists. He runs the bench, calls the runes and decides what gets opened.
Famulus
Dr J's assistant, and the second voice on every broadcast. He keeps the show moving while Dr J is elbow deep in a box.
Giveaways
Channel the storm
Giveaways run live in the Lab, and there is one way in. Comment Channel the storm on the broadcast. That is the entry. No other phrase counts, and nothing needs to be bought to say it.
Winners are called out on stream when the draw happens. If you win, you will hear it in the broadcast first.
We never message you first about a prize. If an account claiming to be Dr J or Famulus opens a conversation telling you that you have won something, it is not us. Report it rather than replying.
The audience
You are not a viewer, you are an adept
The Lab calls the people watching adepts, and it is not a gimmick word for subscribers. The show is taught as much as it is performed: what a rune does, why a pull matters, what a print run means and what something is actually worth.
